Luapula Families in Distress (LUFAID) is a Community Non Governmental organisation registered with the registrar of societies of the republic of zambia with certificate Number ORS /102/46/236 . Five volunteers two US Peace corps , two Zambian counterparts volunteers and one Japanese Volunteers Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. Founded the organisation on the 20th December 2001 in Mansa Luapula province and become registered on 3rd July 2002 .
The social economic impact of the known HIV/AIDS still has to be measured in Luapula . that the Luapula Families in Distress (LUFAID) was founded to responds to the challenges and negative impact that the is due t o the search for knowledge and practical. Approaches to solving HIV/AIDS Disease had brought on humanity .
The organisation began by emphasizing the need to promote the principle of participation , decentralization and use of integrated approaches in the fight against the epidemic through the involvement of the people in the local communities

Bringing Hope , Help and remedy to the distress due to HIV/AIDS/STI/TB.
GOAL:
To increase community participating in the fight against HIV/AIDS through
integrated response in Luapula province
